Six people died after their small plane crashed at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course in Arizona on Monday, killing everyone on board, police said.

Emergency crews responded to the fiery crash site, located just north of the Scottsdale Airport, at around 9 p.m. on Monday, authorities said.

The aircraft, a Piper PA24, crashed and caught fire just after takeoff from Scottsdale Airport, FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said in a statement.

“At this point in the investigation we can confirm that the flight originated from the Scottsdale airport and crashed shortly after takeoff,” the department said in a statement. “None of the six passengers aboard the aircraft survived.”

A Piper PA24 is a single engine prop plane. I will never fly in a single engine plane. The chances of losing two engines are pretty slim and at least you can fly with just one engine.

Great uncle designed some of the first combat jets, used to talk to him about how much I liked the f-14 Tomcat. He was a big fan of the F-16, which had one engine. I brought that up once, about still having one if an engine went out, and he replied, "True, but you have twice as many chances with two engines!"

I was part of a group of 6 people last week. I don’t know what I would’ve done.

It's not Randy's fault. He didn't design that hole to accommodate single Engine planes. How Could he know?

Yep across the street. Played both Stadium and Champions. If I remember, there is an airport near by.

Just imagine if you’re like me and have played golf near an airport. Literally shaking.
