I think the original reasoning for Pan Am being mentioned is the assumption that you had groups of high school kids from different neighborhoods / gangs / crews all being put in the same area.
Now you figure at least a few of them drove and It makes sense to me that it’s possible they pulled up next to each other at a red light, exchanged words, and shite hit the fan.
That’s at least my logic behind it
