NEW ORLEANS — Five of the six people shot in Mid-City Friday night were juveniles ages 15-17 and include one teenager who died from his wounds at the scene, NOPD officials said.

In total, six people were shot and one was killed at the intersection of City Park Avenue and Canal Boulevard late Friday night in a shooting that continues to unfold as the NOPD investigates.

According to police officials, officers responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. after they received a call that someone had been shot near the intersection. When they arrived, they found five teenage males and an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the teenage victims died on the scene, according to New Orleans EMS.

Maybe we won't have to hear the typical responses about poor marksmanship in this thread.

First thing I thought was what New Orleans public high school football games were played and Gormley and Pan Am last night. Jesuit played Helen Cox but I’m not sure who played at Pan Am. I’d say there is a good chance this shooting is related

Wasn’t that game at 330/4? They usually have two games

There was a game being played at 530 when I passed yesterday. They had Sophie b’s colors on.

You’re correct, I just went and looked.

The late game was Booker T Washington and Mcmain.

So plenty of schools / kids around to stir up some trouble.

I guess they were using the street cars or hanging out at a bus stop? There isn’t much at that intersection but cemeteries. Something tells me they weren’t coming from the bulldog

They completely fricked up that intersection when they redid it.
I try to avoid it as much as possible.

They had to have had a traffic engineer from Nigeria consulting on that job.

They were 90 minutes away from midnight basketball. They should have known better.
