As of press conf one officer released from hospital, another two are stable and the other two that were shot in the neck/face are in critical but stable condition.

One ten-thousandth of one percent of the US population is killed by guns each year, and over half of those are suicides

Sadly the person who took down those police are very skilled. Either on drugs and DGAF or ex-military.

The million post part is tongue in cheek. The guns being out of control is sincere.

How many times do any of you recall cops shot during the 1990s or even the early 2000s?

This is the work of the lefty media and SJW filth who earn livings selling the drama.

Predominately Hispanic neighborhood, probably gang members and the search warrant was for heroin dealing.

That sounds so much better than just saying 35,000. Thirty-five thousand Americans are killed by fricking guns. Every year. And this doesn't bother you?

Oh. You would have thought Bush, Perry and Abbott would have cleared those illegal alien tamale neighborhoods out long before now.

Only the innocents and suicides

2/3 of that 33k are suicides, about 1000 are accidental deaths, and the rest, roughly 12k, are homicides or justifiable homicides

So when you put that 12k number in perspective, this is a pretty insignificant issue

This discussion should be held in another thread since this is about 5 police officers who were shot in Houston, but if you believe this shite you are part of the problem in this country.

You buy into this silly shite.

The reason we don't recall cop shootings in the 1990s and early 2000s is because there was no social media.

Do you think it just started the same time social media started to take off? Just because you don't hear about something doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Fair. In my opinion, lowering the accessibility to all firearms, and heavily restricting semiautomatic weapons will greatly reduce the number of innocents killed, and will reduce the ease for so many to become the guilty.

Well, there's at least some cops dead in Dallas and Louisiana for the very reason that poster is saying.

That's undeniable.

Not really. Most are suicides or thugs being thugs.

No. And again, over half of those are suicides.

Let's reduce all speed limits to 25. Let's ban sugar. Let's outlaw swimming. See how stupid that sounds?

Roughly the same amount of people die of alcohol related car crashes as do by intentional acts of gun violence in the US

We are talking small numbers

I sure do like when rationality goes out the window. For the record, I'm a safety professional, so I'd love for the speed limit to be lowered. At least until autonomous cars are mandated, that is.
