Some people need a good arse whippin. In modern times, we pay the police to do that. In olden days, members of the community, a victim’s neighbors/family would have to do the whippin. It’s not natural to expect a world where no one ever gets a deserved beating.

Even they truly thought he had a weapon, multiple knees and punches is excessive force. Goal is to subdue and pacify the threat and make an arrest, not to beat the suspect up.

Police need to have faith in the system, that if they do their job right that the guy will end up getting his backdoor beaten up in jail

Fry 'em. We don't need this racial division, AND it sure looks like they were in the wrong, too.

White Hispanic. Case closed. Officers guilty.

ETA. After watching the video, the guy doing 99% of the punching is a big black guy. This is going no where. Gravy didn't see shite. BTW, laughing at the old white guy who throws two punches that look like they are coming from a 12 year old girl. He should be embarrassed. All the other officers never throw a punch and only wrestle the guy to the ground. Not sure why they got put on leave.

Not surprising. The same department where they shot that kid in a hotel hallway at point blank.

The police were there on a domestic violence call. This guy was a friend of the original suspect and walked away, they don't specify other than that. Looked to me like he was just being generally uncooperative.

Yeah. This will only fuel the fire of the attitude toward cops that's been growing exponentially. I know that there are bad cops and I want to believe there are lot more good ones out there. But it's clear there is a tone at the top problem in Mesa when 3 (maybe 4?) cops all join in on beating some dude up and knocking him out, just because he didn't want to sit down and may have mouthed off to them. He wasn't even a suspect. The way this should have gone is Cop 1 loses his cool and the other 3-5 people there calm him down and / or pull him off the guy. Instead, they all join in to beat a guy senseless.

The chief should be fired, because the culture that exists there is a result of his poor management.

I wish there were audio as I'd love to hear all that was said.

This is all assumption but he said something, my guess is a threat to the police

Telling somebody to frick off is not a threat.

I said it was all assumption. No one knows what was said currently. No matter what was said, the one officer didn't need to repeatedly punch the guy. If it wasn't some kind of threat he said, my next guess is Officer Punchy thought he may have something in his wasitband, said something and when the suspect put his hands back by his wasitband, it was on.

Watch the 20 minute video. "Officer Punchy" already patted the guy down before all this happened.

I hope the officers involved aren't the C.O.W.Boys of Moo Mesa.

I don't know why you are giving them the benefit of the doubt when they essentially jumped the dude. It looks way more like they got their panties in a wad and beat him b/c he wasn't kissing their asses. They probably had no idea the camera was there and thought they'd get away with it.

I am not giving him the benefit of doubt. I already said he didn't need to do what he did. I was just assuming what led to it. I don't necessarily see why all 4 got suspended but the one main officer I believe will be charged with something for this.

Mesa is where Daniel Shaver was killed by cops as he lay on the floor pleading for his life

because 3 good cops should be enough to stop 1 bad one. those 3 "good" cops probably weren't entirely truthful when filling out a their reports, or being interviewed by i.a.
