I think I would much prefer the 9/80 to 4 10 hour shifts every week.

I had this work schedule when I was a Fed and loved it.
I rarely took leave because I didn't have to....

and to keep the pay of 40 hours

4 day work weeks are awesome, if you're good at managing your time.

9/80 schedule is where it’s at. Every other Friday off. Opposite Fridays the office is only half occupied so you can actually get shite done.

This.

Work 12’s, so one week I work 3 days, other week I work 4. Comes out to around 80-82 hours a pay period with lunches.

I like it because I get random week days off and if I burn 2 days PTO I can get a week off

Absolutely. My commute is 1 hour each way (thank you BR traffic). This nets me 6 more hours a week, not to mention 2 week days to take care of business during the day that i wouldn’t be able to otherwise.

My wife works 4 8.5 hour days (34 hours per week). She switched to this schedule after we had our child.

Unfortunately, a 4 day work week is not really feasible for me, but I work from home so I'm fine with it.

Oh yeah if you live out in the sticks and have a far commute I can see the 3 day 13 hour shifts being ideal.

You probably also work weekends, right? I'd much rather work 5 8's on week days than a 3/4 schedule where I have to work weekends.

I had it for a while, it was everything you dreamed it to be. A day off without the wife, and kids, at home to do things you want to do.

I've worked 4/10s and I've worked 9-80 schedule...I definitely prefer the 9-80.

I can work half days on Friday assuming I hit 40 hours.

But I usually just piss those afternoons away. It's like you blink and it's five oclock. I assume the full day would feel the same. Time off flies by while those mondays at the desk drag on forever.

When I’m at my home office, that’s the schedule.

I love it. Have an early morning tee time every Friday morning when I work it

Yes I work weekends. I don’t mind it though, because things are usually pretty slow on the weekends

I'll take a 5 day week with a hybrid option, working Monday and Friday from home. Reduces travel expense by 20%.

This is kinda what my schedule is except I do a lot of OT.

I actually have the chance to move to a MTW/MTWT schedule working 12’s but I feel it would cut down on OT so I prob won’t do it.

I have some family that works for a company that does 4-9's & a 5. Those half day Fridays seem nice.

Would be a split of people who think the pay should be reduced as well, but if the same productivity is being met at 32 hours as it was at 40, does it matter? Are we pad for our time or for our production?
