lunchbox says projectile vomiting on boats is rare

quote:

the ship, operated by Princess Cruises, is heading back to Houston a day early, company officials said, citing both anticipated dense fog and a confirmed outbreak of norovirus.

At least 176 people on board fell ill during the cruise, according to the cruise line and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

A Channel Passage

The damned ship lurched and slithered. Quiet and quick
My cold gorge rose; the long sea rolled; I knew
I must think hard of something, or be sick;
And could think hard of only one thing -- YOU!
You, you alone could hold my fancy ever!
And with you memories come, sharp pain, and dole.
Now there's a choice -- heartache or tortured liver!
A sea-sick body, or a you-sick soul!

Do I forget you? Retchings twist and tie me,
Old meat, good meals, brown gobbets, up I throw.
Do I remember? Acrid return and slimy,
The sobs and slobber of a last years woe.
And still the sick ship rolls. 'Tis hard, I tell ye,
To choose 'twixt love and nausea, heart and belly.

Look, we get you have agendas, you hate electric cars and cruises, but surely you should look into norovirus.

If you get sick from Norovirus, it means you are dirty and don't clean your hands before you eat.

simple as that.

You forget to wash your hands when you are drunk on a cruise bro.

norovirus is highly, highly contagious though

Hand washing certainly will help prevent you getting it but it doesn't guarantee you won't.

It can be on surfaces and is resistant to high heat

Why am I missing the Golden Corral connection - do they provide the buffet food on these cruises?

That's what I don't get either. I saw no connection.

Both have buffets and attract those that love buffets for cheap

Another reason why I am not a fan of cruising.

Thanks. So nothing to actually do with the Golden Corral. But let's just lump them in there anyway. Why not just say buffet?

You should see the Chocolate Wonderfall on that boat. It's gyro-stabilized to compensate for the ship's motion.

There is like one buffet on every cruise, most of the dining is normal sit down dining.

Take your stupid little list of all cruises affected by this virus, the divide that by the total number of cruises over that time frame. Id love for you to post that percentage. I'm sure you won't though.

Do cruise lines catch their own seafood or do they buy it at port? I mean they are right there, might as well throw out some net and a few lines. Might save some money.

Agree.

I hate any kind of buffet. Shoney's, the local Chinese cat eradication restaurant, any of 'em.
