Does one need to speak a language to enjoy music performed in the language? There are about 1.3 Billion Catholics in the world and less than 1% of them speak Latin. About 1% of masses held worldwide each week are in Latin. Its entirely unnecessary to be fluent in another language to enjoy music in another language. 99% of Chinese people say they understand little to no English while about 90% also say that John Denver's "Country Roads" is their favorite song of all time. I certainly get that narrow minded people with an agenda will make a lot out of not being able to understand lyrics...hell old frickers have done it since time out of mind....but the majority of human beings can fully enjoy a song without understanding a single line of it.....if you can't be moved by something like Core N'Grato without speaking Italian there is something missing in your emotional make up and basic humanity....

Its actually a very good thing. The vast majority of the people put out by it will be in a nursing home with advanced dementia or in their grave in another 10 years so they are more or less harmless. The fact that in their dotage the worse thing that could happen is the halftime show during a football game gets their ire up speaks volumes about how good life is in the United States. It gives them something to bitch about on facebook and keeps them from doing any active societal damage until the reach room temperature....

I had never heard of Bad Bunny until this became a "controversy". I had heard of Kid Rock but still don't know anything about the rest of the TPUSA lineup but did google it and combined they account for under 17 million Spotify listeners a month.....Bad Bunny averages about 86 million. about 5 times as many people worldwide listen to one singer every month compared to the superstar lineup offered as an alternative. If one doesn't understand who they were appealing to one will never understand much about life....

I keep seeing his quote from when he was asked about performing the show in Spanish, paraphrasing: English wasn't his first language but it wasn't America's either.
By what metric would English not be America's first language
? It was such an odd quote.

Did bad bunny really burn the American flag while wearing a dress?

Fairly sure that concert picture of him doing that is fake.

Goodell trolled us all
Russia will handle the Super Bowl halftime show in 2027
Does Russia have a suitable venue to host an international game
If not, maybe Iran

There's your answer right there. Hispanic people make up the 2nd largest demographic in the country.

The NFL usually picks an artist that football fans don’t like. They are trying to get more eyeballs from those who don’t care about the game and wouldn’t watch otherwise. That said, it was terrible.
This is more with their recent choices. When they decided to make it an event to stop losing audiences (due blowouts happening early and often) they started out with Michael Jackson and have had Prince, Janet Jackson & her tit with Timberlake, ZZ Top, U2 with a moving & patriotic 9/11 tribute, Bruno Mars (who might be 2nd best performance behind Prince), Lady Gaga on her own, and many others who would have been pretty mainstream English speaking and Top 40. Usually had surprise guests appear who were similarly mainstream. The biggest fail was the Blackeyed Peas who had peaked years earlier and also were just horrible that day.
This was the first true event type of halftime performance to keep audiences.

If tweet fails to load, click here. It even had a racial message - Doesn’t matter if you’re black or white including a black and white hand shaking on clothes pulled across the people in the field. More unity focused and less victim blacks by those bad whites.
Here is a link to the U2 halftime performance where even Bono flashed our flag.

We’ve already established that the SuperBowl audience base =/= SB Halftime audience base

By America he means América or basically Latin America as shown in his halftime performance.
quote:
Bad Bunny was criticized for refusing to stand for the song “God Bless America” during a Yankees game in October.
During the Super Bowl halftime show today, he said “God Bless America,” but don’t be fooled into thinking this was some kind of conciliatory gesture.
He proceeded to list names of countries in what Spanish speakers consider a single continent called “América,” making it clear that he intended to shift the meaning of the phrase from an expression of patriotism for the United States to praise for mostly Latin American countries.

This is awesome. When the virtue signal doesn't donit for you, take to dreaming of millions of Americans getting a horrible disease and dying in the next decade, all because they don't care for Spanish autotune rap.
You people are off your fricking rockers.

Are you kidding? This board would have a fricking meltdown if they did this in 2026.
Last night's show had an American flag waving to lead the procession, a football that said "together we're american" and closed by saying "God bless America" in English. And people are still pissed. You don't want "unity focused," you want to cry like a bitch.

The context around the question was in reference to performing in the USA at the super bowl and doing it all in Spanish, prior to the super bowl, so I'd say this reasoning is a stretch, context would point to him saying English isn't the first language of USA, either.
However, if we want to take this interpretation, it is still a silly quote because then Spanish wouldn't be "America's" first language either. It is just a beyond silly quote.
