I never said to “cut out carbs.” There’s a lot of space between reducing the average American’s carb intake and being low carb or keto.
Every other nation eats way more carbs than we do the difference is sugar as we sweeten everything even our bread. Foreigners find American bread more like a pastry.
My wife (Asian) eats carbs every damn meal but doesn't eat a lot of sweets.
I am too fat now and just cut out sugar again last week. Might go get a shot in the butt after reading responses from the posters here that are using it.

Ozempic and Wegovy have different doses. Ozempic is a smaller dose and used for lowering A1C. Wegovy is now the fad drug for weight loss and is about 4 times stronger. I bet the bed crappers are on Wegovy.

I've always wondered about Asians with Rice and Italians with pasta. How come they ain't fat like us?

drip or full blown fountain?

Thanks for proving my point. You make it sound that that’s a trivial amount of protein intake for the average American. How many typical dieters in the US are getting anywhere near that amount of protein per day?
hell no, but you can make the rest of your diet majority carbs if you want

And not all protein is the same. 200 grams of beef isn’t equivalent to 200 grams of plant based protein.
100% correct

From what I read on this board, people are mad that fat people exist and are weighing down our healthcare system.
Then they are mad that fat people are getting medical help to lose weight because it’s “cheating”.
Great post.
I have several friends on these meds and have lost a ton of weight. But, many look frail and sickly. They have lost a lot of muscle.
Use the med, but add resistance training to get the optimum outcome.

Portion control and more exercise (especially walking). However, Europe is slowly but surely becoming fatter as well.

Well, different carbs affect hormone responses in different ways so that isn't controversial. Fiber plays a big role in digestion too.

Oh really? You probably regret they took fen phen off the market, huh?

I'll stick eating less and exercising more

Makes sense given this (diarrhea) is a common side effect of diabetes medication as well.

I never said you couldn’t, but what do you think is more likely to be filling for longer after a meal: the remaining calories being 2:1 carbs to fat or being 2:1 fat to carbs?
Keep in mind, this is hypothetic person in a minimum 500 calorie per day deficit for a 1lb per week weight loss goal, so they’re likely already predisposed to feeling underfed.

yea since they work the same lol. do you even know why Fenfluramine was pulled? do you even understand the biochem on how ozempic works?
you realize they started studying GLP-1 in stage 2 clinical trials in 2008 right? we have a pretty god damn good handle on it

Does Ozempic cause cancer? Seems like I read that somewhere

You might hate me for saying this, but keto (as opposed to Ozempic et.al) would be one of the optimal ways for obese people to safely lose weight if they are not resistance training since ketones restrict catabolism. Just saying...I hate doing keto and think people should enjoy their diet but the biochemistry is there.

Personally, I don’t think keto or carnivore is sustainable for the vast majority of people either. They’ll lose weight, but eventually most will come off and end up rebounding.
I think the key is finding your own individual balance to where you don’t even consider it a “diet” anymore. It takes time and discipline, especially when you’re bombarded with scientifically engineered foods to maximize craving and addiction.

in animal trials in really high doses per kg of bodyweight it caused thyroid tumors, but only in some animals, not all and no reports in humans at all.
Posted on 5/25/23 at 2:33 pm to stout
I think it gave rats some form of thyroid tumors in testing. Not sure what the follow up has been.
