It’s either 9 or 1, depending on if you’re retarded or not
Posted on 2/4/18 at 7:48 am to rondo
Rondo is correct. I am assuming they either worded the question incorrectly, used the wrong number, or the person asking the question is a blithering idiot.

Probably meant to ask how many large dogs. Typo in question. Answer is 13.
Posted on 2/4/18 at 7:49 am to olgoi khorkhoi
Yea it's 42.5
6.5 large dogs plus 42.5 small dogs is 49 total dogs, and 36 more small dogs than large dogs

1-48 “47”
2-47 “45”
3-46 “43”
4-45 “41”
5-44 “39”
6-43 “37”
7-42 “35”
8-41 “33”
Large dogs on left, small dogs on right. Trick question. Not possible. Difference (or the amount more) of small dogs in quotes.

Trick question because of this. We don’t know how many other categories there are. There could theoretically be 37 small dogs, 1 large dog, and 12 medium dogs.

I agree. If I were the teacher, the only correct answer would be "not enough info"
Posted on 2/4/18 at 8:09 am to Will Cover
Yeah, unless the correct answer is 42.5, that's a shitty question for 2nd graders.
Either there is a typo, or the moron who wrote this question needs to be quizzed on the answer and whether he feels that is a good question for 2nd graders. His response decides whether he gets to keep his job or not.

How many of the small dogs are terriers and I’ll tell you the answer.

The really sad part of this is that John White has probably made numerous deals with companies to provide the curriculum currently taught. That includes the various tests (at an additional cost of course), that will most certainly include tons of errors and mistakes.

The correct answer is why didn't YOU think the O-t had been over this several days ago when this appeared here. Nice search.
42.5

X + Y = 49
Let Y = small dogs
Let X = large dogs
Y+ 36 = X
(Y + 36) + Y = 49
2Y + 36 = 49
2Y = 13
Y = 6.5
So 6.5 small dogs and 42.5 large dogs. Poor half dogs.

Unless King Solomon was one of the judges, the answer is not possible.
