Nu-uh!

Wait, do you seriously believe that the overwhelming majority of people who watch wrestling don't know that it is scripted?

What's interesting is that by all accounts, before Hogan called Bischoff and told him he would be the third man, it was originally supposed to be Sting

Tony Schiavone literally the worst on the mic of all time.

I remember me and some buddies had ringside seats to Bash at the Beach 93 in Biloxi. Schiavone had been working for the WWF but had made the jump back to WCW; meanwhile, Jim Ross had jumped from WCW to the WWF. Anyway since it was a beach-themed show before it all started Gary Michael Cappetta introduced the commentators, which were Jesse Ventura and Schiavone, who came to the ring in some Hawaiian garb and sunburn cream on his nose. It was pretty quiet and then my friend yelled, "SCHIAVONE SUCKS! WE WANT JIM ROSS!" Schiavone heard him and was legitimately trying to climb over the railing to get to him. What a total knob he was. Ventura literally had to hold him back and walk him over to the announce table. After that Doug Dillinger (chief of security) came over and said, "Tone it down a little - he's been going through a rough time lately"

I was at this show, too. It was cool to see Flair beat Windham, being in attendance for one of his 17 world title wins.

Best turn in wrestling history

Oddly enough the best heel turn in pro wrestling history prior to the 1996 BATB happened 90 miles up the road. Barry Windham turns on Lex Luger and joins the Four Horsemen. I still remember the commentary. "Barry no!" He apparently had to be whisked out of the building because the crowd was so hot.

No bait whatsoever I was just quoting my favorite laugh out loud line from the announcers in this video which echoed exactly what young Adam banks was thinking at the time.

Somehow I’ve been torched with downvotes from it

Not so sure about that.

Pretty sure this was #1

I think you could call Andre's heel turn and Hogan's heel turn 1A and 1B. They both came at important times for both companies and both were massive successes. The fact that Hogan was involved in both is kind of cool, even though I've never liked the guy.

Prior to that, when Larry Zbyszko turned on Bruno Sammartino it was also huge. Led to their steel cage match at Showdown at Shea in 1980, where ironically, Andre pinned Hogan.

The hogan Andre match was not the best match by far, but it was the most important in the history of rasslin.

Hogan slamming Andre at WM3 is the most iconic moment in wrestling history.

Correct. Vince was brilliant putting that show in the silver dome. I would have never thought 90,000 fans would have shown up there to watch a staged display.
