No cheating. No Googling. No search engines.

That's roughly twice a minute. Blinking your eyes?

The heaviest smartphone users click, tap or swipe on their phone 5,427 times a day, according to researcher Dscout. That's the top 10 percent of phone users, so one would expect it to be excessive. However, the rest of us still touch the addictive things 2,617 times a day on average.

In fact, daily, the average user only used the devices for a total of 145 minutes. Heavier users: 225 daily minutes.
That's over 2 hours a day at a minimum on our mobile devices.
Incredible, I believe. So much time wasted. And here I am on my phone, doing the same exact thing.

too early for me to think that hard, so I googled. If it's the first thing that popped up, that's a hard one for me to believe.

You may be on to something. I'll need to watch one day and actually count.

Guilty as charged.

I could see that
I'm definitely a lot lower than average but only because I prefer to use desktop at work and laptop at home

Same here, nothing replaces a laptop / desktop experience.
I primarily use my phone to stream Spotify all day, play WWF and read a post or two from TD while stopped at a red light.

The sad part is that all of us recognize this but still continue playing on our phones.
I remember reading something that said it would take you 76 work days to read all the privacy policy stuff you encounter in a year's time.

2:25 out of an average 16:00 waking hours. 1/6.6th of consciousness spent looking into a 2"x4" box.
Assuming getting a phone at age 10:
I wonder if the average person will lie on their death bed at 85 years old and wish they had those 11 years and 118 days back..
