22 y/o dead after being tied up,beaten & sexually assaulted for two days by prison gang

The warden apparently tried to tell his parents that it was a drug overdose until they arrived at the hospital and saw the marks on his arms where he had been tied up. Sounds like a big arse lawsuit incoming

Theft isn't a victimless crime and deserves to be punished, but perhaps we shouldn't be housing inmates serving a 1yr sentence for something like this with violent criminals?

It says he was "sold out" by another inmate. Does that mean he was sold to other inmates to rape? Or does that mean "sold out" in a colloquial sense as in "revealed" as being a potential jail house rat?
