I had a co-worker who bought the first year Kia Soul. I advised her not to buy a first year model. She got pissed at me and told me that I didn't know what I was talking about.. A couple of months later the car caught fire for unknown reasons.. Karma bit her right in her soul...

sometimes you gotta grab the bull by the horns. Ive made lots of mistakes in my life. Also had a lot of fun making those mistakes. Good lessons learned. Never bought a first year vehicle though. Im willing to learn

Banner Ford told me there will not be any vehicles on lots, it will all be orders at least through 2021. Deliveries start June 2021

The only negotiating you will be doing is for how much over sticker you are willing to pay

Yup, some dealerships may get 1-2 to show off, but reserved orders are being built before any dealer inventory.

We just bought a Telluride and they aren't budging...I got $550 out of them. But I knew going in what I was up against. My wife just had to have one though...

How do you plan to negotiate the price before committing?

By buying from a dealer that I know and trust.

A buddy of mine reserved one as well and the dealership he picked was charging an extra $1500 fee. Well he called and spoke with someone at Ford and they told him they couldn’t doing anything about the fee, but he could switch his reservation to a different dealership that wasn’t charging the extra $1500. So he just called around until he found one that wasn’t charging extra.

I reserved one too and a salesman has been calling / emailing me but I haven’t replied yet.

Y'all are making first year cars out to be way worse than they are.

There could be some issues, but they aren't lemons.

Some people cannot help but hate on anything they can’t do or disagree with.

And there will be problems.

Of course there will be problems, it is still a Ford and the first year of a new model.

As someone else said, I would wait a few years and look at them on the used market.
