Looks reasonable.

Vanderbilt at 15 is a load of $%^&? Why?

The only rankings that matter.

If 25-35% of the ranking is still based off a "scoring system" that they ask University Presidents to fill out...the answer is no. They don't matter.

When you expect the University President at BYU to know how to appropriately rank Florida International...and this is a third of your methodology?

WSJ's are significantly more straight-forward and accurate.

If we can't beat Arkansas next year, let's just give up.

We were ranked 140 last year.

I see.

But it still looks like a solid ranking system. Hard to really dispute the top 50 much.

"While we are pleased to be recognized as a top-tier university and the leading public university in Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report, we maintain that this ranking is based on inputs and not the outcomes that truly matter for students and their families," LSU President F. King Alexander said in a statement

I.e. “It’s not fair that my shitty performance as LSU President has led to the school dropping in the rankings every consecutive year since I showed up. We should be recognized for lowering our admission standards and devaluing LSU degrees because it increased enrollment and diversity figures.”

a few years ago Alabama was acting like they were some elite academic institution, at least compared to LSU

Florida ahead of UT does seem a stretch.

Vanderbilt and Rice too close to call for me.

How did Alabama fall almost 75 spots?

Dig into the rankings and methods and they are at best a guesstimate. They'd do better to rank in blocks of 25-50.

Has auburn always been ahead of Alabama? Tennessee? Haven't they been ranked rather low in the recent past? Why would there be a significant difference in any five year period?
