The first one to get Tier 1 status will be awarded the singular title of University of Louisiana.

LMFAO. LSU has fallen AGAIN.

It was #129 a few years ago. Jesus Christ.

I might be mistaken, but was LSU around 60 in the 1990's?

I think they reconfigured the factors a few years ago and it turned out to hurt UA a lot more than other schools. It doesn't bother me anymore because I know that the school is much better quality wise than when I was there. The incoming students are higher quality and job placement is higher quality as well. I know I sound biased but I think we are much better than our rankings show.

All the schools are getting better though, which is why they aren't seeing much improvement. No one is sitting still.

Rankings suck. What is better an LSU Degree in Chemical Engineering or a History degree from Vandy. CE will start at around 95K and the history grad will, well I don't know what a barista makes

Is there a reason you chose not to compare Vandy engineering to LSU engineering?

Other than you being completely butt hurt?

This. In the end an engineering degree from a good program (e.g. UT) will be more valuable than lesbian dance theory from Cornell. But Cornell opens more initial doors and is more prestigious.

Correct. Plus, many of those taking liberal arts degrees will go to grad school, law school, med school.

For example, my brother attended Austin undergrad. He completed his studies as a Spanish major. Then attended a top 20 med school.

People on here don’t realize that Ivy League grads in liberal arts are routinely hired on wall street. Or have wealthy parents or know people.

Smart is smart. What you are interested in studying in college at those schools often has little bearing on career.
