2020 Mustang GT500 debut

Went to a Ford Dealer a couple of years ago for service on one of my daughters car, they had a Shelby on the floor. MSRP was mid 60's, the dealer wanted $85000. The car was striking, from a distance. Closer inspection, and the interior, aside from the racing seats was ho-hum, and the body panels were so miss aligned, it was ridiculous. Hopefully Ford and Shelby have upgraded the production.

It looks like the same as the 2017 and 2018 Mustangs parked in front of mobile homes all over the US....although I know this version has the business under the hood.

Don't laugh too much. The V6 Mustang and Camaro can actually turn corners now. The Challenger is still more of a straight line car though.
The days of V6 (and in some cases V8) Mustangs being barely adequate are gone. I think Ford finally installed an independent rear suspension in the Mustang recently.

I understand that this is the top of the line Mustang, and I'm not saying it's not a nice car, but I just can't understand why you'd buy a Mustang if you're looking to spend $70k on a car.

A 10 second car that can turn well and stop quickly with a warranty at $70k (if that's what it costs) is a relative bargain. The SVT and now Shelby cars have show to hold their value very well too.
Pickup trucks can cost this much now, so is it really that crazy that a range topping performance car can get up there?

I think that's crazy too.
I'm not saying it's not priced appropriately, there are just a lot of vehicles in that price range that I'd much rather have than a Mustang. That's simply my personal opinion, I'm not trying to say it's a shitty car or anything like that.
