I'm not saying it's not priced appropriately, there are just a lot of vehicles in that price range that I'd much rather have than a Mustang
I'd imagine most people that are buying these aren't going to be buying them as a primary vehicle. This certainly wouldn't be the first car I spent that kind of money on either, so I definitely get what you're saying.

100% True. The Ford dealership in Houma had to fly in a master mechanic for his GT350.

Not saying I didn't believe it
Just what happened with it.

As a secondary fun vehicle, it would be a lot of fun.
But I believe $70k is about the same cost for an M4 (could be wrong, if so someone correct me), and I'd take the M4 over the Mustang every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

The correct question is what didn't happen to it.
Let me text him and get the rundown again. It all ended with a brand new engine having to be put in.

Those start at $70k, but this is going to be substantially faster. We'll see how that translates to track times. Plus some people just like the sound of a V8.

Cylinder compression failure LNCH.

You can get them for invoice/slightly under invoice.
The GT500 will kingly have dealer markups the first 1-2years.

Here's another article, this one from Bloomberg. It points out that Ford $2B in profit for the 3rd quarter.
Bloomberg
It's all about the money. Ford knows there's lots of old farts (like me) with $ laying around who will line up and pre-order these things at above MSRP. And the good news is they keep their value pretty well.

It's one thing to die in an incredibly fast Porsche, it's another thing to die in an incredibly fast Mustang...
I mean, you're still be dead, but you know what I mean.

You look cooler if you die in a porche than a mustang?

I feel like that's the standard response to any car thread on here. I would be interested in a thread with a definitive listing of all the "manly cars", but feel like it would be a really short list of of a couple pickups.

Even the regular GT is a great handling car since they added the IRS.

Agree with you 100%, and no, I don't own a Mustang.
Posted on 1/14/19 at 6:36 pm to LNCHBOX
I'd still rather have a Hellcat, even if this Mustang can "corner."
Something about the Mustang's styling is just... cheesy. The Hellcat actually LOOKS the part.

That car is perfect....
