Came down with the alpha variant in Novermber 2020. Two shot series of Pfizer in Dec-Jan 2021. Booster in October of 2021. (I’m a physician so I considered these somewhat necessary).

Tested positive for COVID today with mild symptoms, presumably Omicron. This whole thing is completely laughable. Do not trust the government.

The one thing you can absolutely trust the government to do is to frick it up, whatever they do.

Well yeah. What about the last 100 years would make anyone trust any type of government?

This again?! Who cares. We need a Covid check in mega thread for everyone that feels the need to announce their Covid status.

Maybe the fact you’ve been vaccinated 3 times and had a prior infection is the reason you’re having a mild case? Seems like that would be common sense for someone whose a physician.

The.vaccine worked well for the alpha strain, fairy well for the delta strain and then fell off the map for the omicron strain.

In all honesty though, this isn’t shocking. Corona viruses are notoriously hard to vaccinate against much like the flu but even worse. By the time you develop a vaccine for it, a mutated version will already exist. There in lies the problem.

Now, asking people to vaccinate isn’t a big deal, but requiring it to exist in society is too much.

Reality is that the government and CDC simply don’t know how to handle it because Corona viruses just have to run their course. Add in the fact it was almost assuredly man-modified making it even more infectious, and you get the mess we are in.

Blame China and Fauci for the GOF research they decided was worth the risk of this mess.

Thanks doc.

I read a UK study that basically said boosters make people feel better about themselves.

So to stop the npc bug eating pod people from panicking whenever a new virulent strain pops up, they launch booster campaigns that don't actually do much to help, but make it look like those 'in charge' are doing something.

One of stupidest thing I’ve experienced so far during Covid.

2 weeks ago I tested positive for covid, I was instructed to isolate for 5 days and wear a mask for 10 days (bump that) due to my vaccination status. My wife and kids were told the same thing as they are not vaccinated.
My buddy who is a big covid vaccine guy tested positive for Covid a day or so later. His wife and kids were told since they were vaccinated that they should be fine carrying on as normal. No mask no isolation, nothing.

We talked about it this week he sees no problem with this situation. He agrees that they can still pass covid and are just as likely to contract it from him yet has no problem with them going to work or school.

I’m about to lose my mind on people who were once freedom loving people who now treat people like second class citizens due to a cold.

Skeptical if you aren't aware that breakthrough infections with omicron are very likely.

Not sure what that has to do with the government though

I don’t, but I’ve had the 3 Moderna shots at the same time. At times I regret getting them but at the same time I haven’t had so much as a sniffle since this crap made its way here from China.

I think it was more the point that the vaccine was originally promoted to prevent the spread of COVID. The reality is that at best it reduces the chance of hospitalization for high risk individuals. At worst the vaccine itself is cytotoxic and causing a whole mess of other problems.

I appreciate you down playing the vid bc it is an old arse record. However, it’s a prominent aspect of everyone’s life at the moment. Like it or not.

I thought just about everyone who caught omnicron had a mild case. I mean the OP isn’t a geriatric. In most cases the symptoms resemble a cold. I’m unvaxxed and had it a few weeks ago. Didn’t take anything other than Tylenol. OPs whole point is that the vax didn’t do shite for him.
