SQ seems to be doubling down on their stupidity. They have a cult following and built a good reputation via word of mouth raves and reviews.

Now they are attempting to censor bad reviews. Word is going to spread like wildfire on those same platforms.

yep. and going after youtube dealers who have posted years of glowing reviews isn't going to have the effect i think they think its going to have.

Update:
I checked with Stanton’s Appliances to see if they still had one of the older models, but hey did not. I asked about the reason for the redisign, and the guy said it was due to government efficiency standards. Trump needs to MAGA this bullshite, and get the government the hell out of my laundry, shower, and shitter!

Anyway, going to give this machine a shot. I’ll get back on it’s performance after we’ve used it a while.

So you bought a new Speed Queen after being told from multiple people across various sources that it is shite?

Looking for a new washer is a pain in the dick. These things have changed so much in the last 10 years. Everything is high efficiency now and no agitator. I'm leaning toward this one: LG 4.5-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer WT1501CW but frick if I know.

We had a LG top of the line model. Cost over $1100 and gave it to our church thrift store after 13 months. It was always going out of balance and starting the program all over so the wash was taking over 1.5 hours. Do not get a HE model because they only fill with a puddle of water. The SQ will let you set the fill level all the way up if you want and our clothes are so much cleaner. Consumer's Report has LG at the bottom for reliability.

Well frick... I need to find something in stock at the Hammond Lowe's. My washer has been acting up and last night it finally gave up. I don't think Lowe's sells SQ.

My 4 year old SQ is probably worth more than I paid for it, if this is all true.

These reviews... it's either "greatest washing machine ever!" or "worst washing machine ever!" for every damn washer. This shite is giving me a headache.

Clearly, you didn’t read my OP. I already made the purchase without any knowledge of the design change.

My wife and I we’re fed up with top load HE POS LG I bought 6 years ago. We had been comptimplating this purchase for a very long time based on the great reviews, and recommendations from people we know. We just happened to pass by Stanton’s on Saturday, and decided to buy one. We thought we were getting the same machine so many had raved about. Since I’ve already made the purchase, I’m going to give this new design a chance. If it doesn’t perform to our standards. I’ll take it back, and get something else.

I have an LG similar to that one, and it does not clean clothes worth a shite. If you’re going with a top load, get one with an agitator, and let’s you set the water level. JMO

TR5000 - went for the TR3000, but the price of the new 500 was what I thought the 3000 would be so...

I was disappointed that the lid now locks, but it is apparently a government mandate to keep us safe from arms being torn off and shite. So they all lock now. The SQ, however, lets you open it as much as you want until the wash cycle starts. Love it. runs a load in around 30 minutes, spins it pretty dry, comes out clean.

fyi, I know of 2 different people who had issues with their brand new SQ. These are in the last couple years so I don't think its an agitator issue.

I'm starting to think the SQ are going to shite with the rest of appliances.

I bought a set of maytags on sale at Lowe’s 5 years ago. $650 for the set. Going strong. Folks overthink this washing machine game.

I have a 2017 SQ set and the Washer could not possibly be improved on cleaning by 5%.

Sorry you got the new and unimproved version.

The sumbitch uses a shite ton of water but I don't care about that.

Got mine in Amite, LA, ca$h is kang.
