There was a time when New Orleans firms basically didn't hire LSU grads. Back then, Loyola had a strong pipeline of judges and firm partners to get their grads into the work force. However, over the last 30 years, that law school has gone into decline as LSU grads began penetrating into the NOLA legal community. Now, an LSU law degree is no longer a liability when looking for a job in New Orleans. That has kinda crowded out the Loyola niche.

I don't see much mixing at all. Lawyers I know are married either to women with good degrees from good schools but now stay home with the kids, or they're married to women with professional jobs, for the most part.
Not to insult good secretaries or paralegals, but they're often from very different backgrounds than the doctors/lawyers they work with, and hence, I don't see too much pairing up. A lot of the paralegals in Atlanta are black, so that adds some separation. But most paralegals I work with are the type that spend their weekends going to Rascal Flatts concerts and shite.

The office I worked in during undergrad exposed me to a lot of this. Lots of talk about annual trips to Destin, "camping" ie. driving an RV 5 miles to a campground, and how big of a piece of shite their oilfield baw husbands were.

Loyola will never know how much damage that Bill Quigley has caused it over the years. Alumni money was pulled and hasn't come back in protest and it also bled over into Nola law firms because some rather large clients didn't want anyone from Loyola handling their business

I couldn't agree more. Bill Quigley is an absolute embarrassment to that school.

They have, they scrapped the civil law course requirements a year ago. Now out of staters can graduate without getting a DCL and taking as little as 2 civil law classes. Lsu is considered a "bargain" by many from out out state and it looks like they are finally trying to capture that market.

They're already watering it down. The DCL (degree of comparative law) is no longer mandatory -- that degree made you take at least another 15 hours of civil law after your 1st year.
