I was more of cram the last 2/3 weeks of the semester kind of guy.
My last year I think I was boozing 5 days a week Tues to Sunday afternoon during football season before finals period study shutdown.

Don't get discouraged by meeting dorky lawyers and not clicking with them. Most lawyers are goobers. Make good grades so you'll have options, but like most things, it's who you know.
If you go to an elite defense firm, prepare to bill your life away for the next few years. You'll get paid for it, and you'll be able to look down at the rest of us from your high horse, but it really won't mean much in the long term. Outside of that, take a job in a field you're somewhat interested in and with someone who will invest a modicum of time in showing you what to do. Law school doesn't teach you much about the actual practicalities of practicing. Finding a mentor or a group of mentors is important.

Pretty much what I've heard so far. I doubt I'll have the grades to have to worry about the big firm insurance thing.
I'm trying to take a few random classes over the next year to expand my interests and not box myself in.
