The people who drive extremely slow in a 75mph zone are every bit as dangerous as the speeders.

As are those that have a vehicle that can handle high speeds, and think they have the skill to drive it safely, any one that asses on the right doing 100mph must have a death wish.

I set my cruise at 82 mph and only deviate when necessary.

I was topped out on the German Autobahn at 140 in a Mazda Miata and I was getting passed like I was standing still.

They must follow the Golden Meadow motto:

It's a big state with long stretches of deserted straight roads.

That's funny - because I was driving a German car at the time. I was the only car on the highway - except for the Sheriff that was hiding in the shadows.

I know what thread this refers to but can anyone link it, I am anticipating a slow Thanksgiving Eve at work and could use a good read.

This is a normal day on the Autobahn in Germany. Of course the roads there aren’t designed by idiots, constructed with sand and gum and maintained by morons.

And it probably won't shock you to learn the most commonly-ticketed car above 140 mph last year was the Ford Mustang.

And Ford takes the checkered flag again. I don't know why you Chevy people even try.

.

frick

THAT.

I used to have a Challenger and right after I got it, I was being dumb and got it up to 164 on a straight, smooth stretch of interstate 40. There weren't many cars on the road but there were enough to make it extremely dangerous, and I came up so fast on someone about a mile ahead in the fast lane that the amount of time it took me to slow down to even 80mph almost made me shite a brick.

I can't even imagine over 200mph, if there's some obstacle or turn in the road that you don't expect you're basically toast by the time you can even slow down to 150.

Why would they stop? That car was probably 2 counties away before the cop could even turn on his lights.

Because very few cars could do 209 mph, so if the cop got the model and color it’s pretty damn easy to figure out who it was unless it’s a huge city or the person was from elsewhere and just passing through.

What I’ve done in a similar situation is take the next exit and pull off on the side of the exit ramp and turn the car off. It’s safer than pulling over on the side of the interstate and the chances of the police seeing me way down the exit ramp when he’s hauling arse trying to catch up are less than 50/50.

I had a Nissan Pathfinder rental up around 140ish heading south on TX 60 to Matagorda Beach one time with a 12 pack of Shinerbach and a few edibles in my pocket

If a deer would have jumped out, Id be eating meatballs with Dean Martin right now

dont think the Texas cops would have thought much of it either, just watched me scrape me off the road

Used to take my sister to ballet dance in L.C. once a week, twice during the holidays. Coming back I would set the cruise on 100 on the long straight stretches. Cadillac Sedan de Ville.

and #5 is a 636cc Kawasaki at 150 mph...

as a 4 decades long motorcycle rider I can tell you that at that speed bugs would be a potentially lethal issue..

But on a wheelie. And he just kept it up. We sped up and he rode that damn thing for at least another 3/4 mile. It was bizarre.

Saw the same thing driving down the interstate in OKC. Guy was on a GSX and kept the wheelie going till he was out of view. He was in the left lane and passing cars up. I'm wondering how long this guy has been pushing up dasies. You can't do that very long and stay among the living.

I'm pretty sure that 209 was on a motorcycle which makes it even scarier.
