Here's an oral history of how it came to be LINK
Admins, you can move this to the M/TV board, but IYAM Office Space has transcended the medium and become a cultural artifiact, thus my posting it here.

I remember being pissed because Anniston had such a minor role. She was near peak of hotness.
But I laughed. Some of the best use of rap and hip hop in a soundtrack too. Especially for the time.

I hate how true to my life this movie is.
" I have 8 bosses.. so when I make a mistake, I get to hear about it 8 different times"
Get me tf out of this corporate world

I remember my first couple of jobs when the internet wasn’t as useable and IT watched your computers like a hawk. You literally would spend hours staring at nothing or learning how to minimize solitaire super fast every time you heard footsteps.
And no smart phones to play on. Not even cell phones to text.
It was acceptable for the guys in the shop tho to email around dirty jokes and unacceptable pictures tho. Something one would get fired on the spot for today.

...and I've never watched one episode. Nothing against the show. I just never watched it.
Eta: wait, it's a movie?

I watched it about a year after it was released and the opening scene with traffic felt just like the Houston traffic that I was just learning to experience.
I think there was another 'factory' type movie that Mike Judge made a few years later that was pretty good. I want to say it was called Extract but I may be way off.

I was living and working in Plano at the time. This movie was near and dear to me as it takes place in that area and my first job outta college was almost IDENTICAL to Initech.
