There are ways that can be done without coming across as a "get off my lawn" type.

Well, as of now, only two are charged with murder. It's not like they have four alleged murderers to contend with, and it sounds like the have depended on witness statements to get to those charges...plus, the autopsy results.
The other guys charged with disturbing the peace might have just been very active players in initiating the brawl from both sides.
