2 Kentucky HS girls suspended after dressing up as Columbine shooters for Halloween

quote:
Two Adair County High School students were suspended after going to school dressed as the Columbine shooters for Halloween.
The two girls went to school wearing outfits that resembled the outfits Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris wore the day they killed 15 people at their school in Columbine, Colo. in 1999.
quote:
Posts on girls' social media showed the two reenacting moments from the Columbine shooting with side-by-side images of the girls pretending to be the two shooters next to real photos from Columbine.
quote:
The superintendent did not say how long the two girls were suspended, but many Adair County High School parents said they were angry the district only suspended the girls.

I don't get outraged at all for stuff like this, but how do people not see the shitstorm that will come their way?

Has it been long enough that Columbine is fair game to joke about?
I mean, that’s ancient history to high schoolers nowadays.

They look like the homeless people I see around San Diego.

Most high schoolers weren't even born when that happened.

It’s like the black face. I dont think people should be so offended, but why the frick are you gonna put yourself in that position. You should know that it wont end with the laughs you were expecting...

The thing that I worry about is young female mental health in the near future. There are some crazy arse young girls out there that could mess some stuff up. Stay froggy!

It was April 1999. I'd figure even the oldest high school seniors now were born after that.
But, I guess you can only dress up as fake killers and not real ones.

Well, first of all, it's not even remotely funny, so that's their first problem. It's not even a current event either. Two dumb bitches that probably could use psych evaulations.

I’m not at all into the PC culture, or overreacting to shite similar to this.
But THIS, dressing up as mass killers who are part of one of the most disturbing trends in our society? A trend that affects students just like them?
I hope for their parents sake, these kids changed when they got to school. I can’t imagine my parents letting me dress up as Ted Bundy or some shite like that.
I’ll file this under another one of those things that’s wrong with America. If this is an example of how desensitized our youth is, then that generation sure as hell isn’t going to fix some of these problems.

What is wrong with today’s youth?

Bill Maher had an interesting guest named Jonathan Haidt last week who wrote a book about how fricked up kids are today b/c they don't interact face to face with each other enough anymore and instead do most of their interactions via social media. Also, helicopter parents have turned into what are now called bulldozer parents. These people straight up stop anything from happening that could create a mild frown to the point that the kids no longer comprehend how to deal with even the most mild of adversity in their lives. It's gotten to where kids think everything they do is just fine and if anyone questions them on it they are being bullied.
