I understand the significance of FLW's work and his impact and all that...but, I think that house is ugly. It reminds me of some public high school built in the 1970s or 1980s (think of the high school from the Breakfast Club).

you'd have a really hard time running out of dishwasher space, at least.

I wonder if these structures fall under some sort of historic protection ordinance.

The Zillow listing says that the original owners are selling it, so you may be right.

Zillow Link

ETA: Looks like a nice neighborhood with some nice houses, though.

Yeah, but he built it in the 50's. Hence the "significance". He was ahead of his time. Granted that style turned into a cheesy look over time. But at that time, he architecturally blowing everyone out of the water. You are buying what is today considered an ugly house, but you are also buying history and art.

There are two FLW houses in Ocean Spring. Or at least there were two. I think Katrina got them.

Looks like the kind of house that would have a lot of water beds.

Oh yeah and I totally understand that. For all we know, houses that we call appealing today will be considered ugly 40 years from now.

Plenty of people out there would love to buy this place. The Zillow listing implied that you can update the place, so I'm sure it will be modernized.

I like looking at FLW homes and that glass sunroom looks pretty sweet. But his home designs do not look like ones I could be comfortable living in.
