I'm in a duck hunting club close to Falcon and could not believe the number of troopers, sheriff's, unmarked cars, etc that we saw in and around Batesville this past weekend.

Looks like Panola County is a pretty happening place these days...may have been some of what you were seeing.

[ Oklahoma murder victim's car found in N. Miss, MBI searching for suspect

quote:

PANOLA CO, MS (WMC) - A man is wanted by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for questioning in the unsolved homicide of James Fox.

On Dec.14, 2014, Fox was found dead inside his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. According to MBI, he died from blunt force trauma to his head.

Fox met the suspect on Craigslist and was allowing him to stay at his home.

MBI says on December 11, the wanted man was seen in the Walmart in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

The unknown suspect allegedly took the victim's car, a 1999 white Cadillac Deville. The car was found on Interstate 55 at the 258.5 mile marker in Panola County on Christmas Eve.

The MBI found evidence that places the suspect in and with the car.

The MBI believes the man could be in the Memphis area.

If you have any information, please call your local police.

Reward increased to $43,000.

That should bring out some talkers.

Chambers' father, Ben Chambers, said her family is in a potential state of anxiety, waiting on some word on the case. He said since he does work for the sheriff's department, they have left him out of the loop on investigation details for his own sake.

"We're just waitig and hoping that something will hurry up and happen, and praying and getting through it," he said. "If something doesn't happen we might go crazy."

quote:

Much public speculation has linked the crime to alleged gangs in the area, but Ben Chambers said someone claiming to be a high-ranking gang member in the area had contacted him to tell him that the gangs in the area were angry and upset about what happened to Jessica as well.

"They're very upset about it. They said you wouldn't even do a dog like that," Ben Chambers said.

So the search for suspects continues.

Well, I guess if the "gang leader" says they didn't do it, you gotta believe them, right?

Looks like the Anonymous folks are hacking into old myspace accounts now, pulling up pics from the mother's side of the family connected to the Simon City Royals, or at least that's what they are saying.......

No it won't. They need to raise it more...

While Lincoln was introducing a new version of its Navigator SUV today, Cadillac was dramatically raising the price of the other popular full-size luxury SUV, the Escalade. Cadillac plans to charge $72,690 to start for the new version of the Escalade, including a $995 destination charge.

I think he was being sarcastic about the 43k.

Can someone fill me as of late?

Did they find out what she said to the paramedics
Did they find out what happened to the back of her car?

What did the autopsy say? Was it a rumor that lighter was poured down her throat?

There has not been anything mentioned on the Memphis news at all.

It's as if it never happened.

So weird that they don't have anyone in custody or a prime suspect by now.

I mean a car on fire is a pretty big scene. Logically thinking you think it wouldn't be that hard to find someone who had something to do with it.

The kid that runs the store has to know something.

there is no update on this case, but another white woman burned up in North Mississippi.

Husband already in custody. The cases are not related. But still, it's hard to be a white girl in North Mississippi.

Sad, just sad the authorities can't bring justice to the family.

There's obviously some level of complicity or at least squelching the truth within law enforcement there. That town is a disgrace. The state of Mississippi needs to come in and raze everything and send everyone packing, and arrest the gas station drug dealer while they're at it.

Is there an update here, or is "(updates)" part of an orginal/older thread title from the OP?
