If you are now freaking out that she has it, why did you not ensure she receive the vaccine? Are you vaccinated? If not, are you now going to get it?

I am sure she will be fine given her age.

That is the worse part. I was going to ask if she was in college or something because you talked like you were not near her. Are there people around to check on her and bring her things she may need once she is home from the ER? I raised 3 teenagers alone so I get the worry.

I'm vaccinated but my kids aren't.

there's no immediate family around her. she has a roommate but, i'm not sure how this will work now that she has covid. i'd imagine the roommate has to separate from her.

She’s 18, she’s fine.

Don't assume, there's some real uggo's out there. She will be ok, healthwise though.

was given a 5 day "z pack" and Albuterol inhaler. Was doing much better within 48 hours.

This is what my 16yo was given as well.

I’m sure your daughter will be fine, but prayers sent nonetheless.

Im certainly using a ton of hyberbole there, but depending on the nation reporting, the chances of an 18 year old dying from covid are somewhere between 0 and 0.02%. The national security council gives the average American a 0.01% chance of drowning, so its right in the same range. She's actually 10X more likely to get killed in a car crash on the way to the hospital than succumbing to Covid while there.

OP doesnt have to worry about his daughter unless she is already gravely ill.
