Of course not. I’m saying the state can’t impose the death penalty for assault.

I wish there was a way where you could feel that the man who shot the 17 year-old was justified while also not wishing that a person that young would die.

I feel bad for the young man who grew up in a community where this was probably always going to be the result.

I also feel bad for all the people who have been made to feel unsafe by these persistent issues.

Him dying would likely prevent an innocent person from getting killed or terrorized sometime in the future. So for the good of society I would not feel bad if he passed.

I mean, that is the mindset a lot of people seem to have, but it’s not one I necessarily think is helpful or productive.

I don't have strong feelings and get where both sides of the debate are coming from. What does that have to do with someone who has shown themselves to be a violent criminal with no regard for others?

I think he was pointing out the hypocrisy of some of the Christians around here, but that doesn’t necessarily paint everyone the same.

Just curious where you draw that ‘so for the good of society’ line

Don't ask me that question, SS. I'm the guy who legitimately thinks that leaving a cart in the parking lot should result in a 6 month prison bid. Not jail, prison.

What kind of piece of shite pulls a gun on a senior citizen and tries to rob them?

Probably take your own advice and make sure your kids are at church today and not being menaces to society.

I’m not sure what you’re implying. It’s good that you have that empathy though.

No, dipshite. A previous poster insisted that “assault with a deadly weapon” was a capital offense. So frick off.

I’m waiting for a witness to describe in graphic detail to the suspects family how how their child died in agony and people stood by laughing.

Many culture believe if you take a life that person is your slave in the afterlife. That pretty ironic if it’s true.
