Masturbation is a horrible habit. It’s damages you psychologically, cheapens your relationship, ruins intimacy, etc.
You can argue it’s normal as much as you want, but it’s not. It’s bad enough on its own. Adding porn into the equation is the equivalent of doing heroin and arguing it’s healthy.

No. Masturbation is not a good thing. It’s psychologically damaging and addicting. Porn has destroyed an entire generation of people. And chronic masturbation is usually a symptom of depression, anxiety, or narcissism. It isn’t healthy for you and the small unearned temporary reward you receive is damaging to you as a person.
If you want to test my hypothesis, stop doing it for 8 weeks and let me know how you feel then. Use that drive and energy and time elsewhere. When you get the urge replace it with a beneficial activity. Exercise, meditate, read a book, call a family member you haven’t checked on in a while, pick up a hobby. All of those things will improve your life and your mental state. Masturbation is just a pathetic lazy crutch. It’s a drug for the apathetic.
We refuse to have this conversation in society today because we have largely killed religion and replaced it with moral relativism and peak narcissistic consumer culture. It’s much much easier to avoid the issue than address it. We should be putting others ahead of ourselves. We should be striving to do and be better for ourselves and loved ones. allMasturbation is counter to both of those goals. Our current society places self above all and that is a road to death and ruin.

Gawd, another preachy former sex addict. Congrats on beating your addiction, but you don’t speak for everyone. Not everyone is like you. Masturbation is a healthy alternative to sex. It’s only a problem for those who prefer it to sex.

I’m not a sex addict and I never have been.
I know we are not going to convince each other. I believe in a higher power and sacrificing yourself for the good of others. You believe in yourself to be the center of the universe and anyone who doesn’t feel that way is a preachy moron and easily dismissed.
