Oh I'm sure that if they are insured through Allstate, they won't actually be covered.

Katrina was all-in at 108 billion in 2005 dollars. 17 billion seems very, very, very high.

Maybe you haven't seen the pictures lately, but the amount of damage done is unconsionable. Car lots, whole neighborhoods, roads, businesses, the whole area around the new Juban Crossing...

Andrew was $25 billion in 1992 dollars. It would be much higher in 2016 dollars.

Oh the damage is horrific and catastrophic, no doubt about that.

But Livingston is in in horrific shape, and parts of three other parishes are in bad shape.

Katrina destroyed shite in four states, and 200 miles inland.

It's terrible what is happening at the moment, though.

17 billion would be too high by more than 10 billion. Truck nuts are not worth that much.

look dude, the truck nuts shite is old. Like someone said, these guys with the "truck nuts" are the same ones with all the mud boats who were out there rescuing those with no place to go. What did you do today?

I normally joke about that but those truck nuts baws were out in full force this weekend getting into places where no one else could get with their jacked up trucks and boats. Good on them for their relief efforts.

Damn straight. And to those making comments about double wides, trailers, and etc. That's in extremely poor taste. Be gracious because you have been blessed with better, not put down on someone who has less.

Easy to sit in your dry house and put down on someone's flooded trailer. Talk about classless.

5 of my groomsmen have lost their homes in Denham today along with my parents. And if you must know ,they all were homes not trailers.

The truck nuts/oilfield baws were the first ones to jump in the shite and help people out over here, with zero regard for tearing up their own stuff. We all make jokes on the OT, but our world is a much better place right now with those guys in it.

Bump...note this is just for the houses...not businesses and stock.

LINK

quote:

The first analysis released Friday of the damage and cost of disastrous flooding in the Baton Rouge region shows that more than 110,000 homes sit in areas that likely saw flooding and they that combine for an estimated value of $20.7 billion.

Right, but that's the value of all the houses, not the cost of the damage

Or did I read it wrong?

quote:

BRAC says the $20.7 billion estimate should not be considered a tally of damage, and that it only represents the value of homes that were subject to flooding.
