A girl at work just said she knows some people that know him. They're saying he works at a packaging warehouse a few minutes down the road from where we work. That's just the local grapevine though.

Rita Benson doesn't live down the street and have a third cousin who's been in and out of jail most of his adult life.

Apparantly a 21 yr old engineering tech at ZF Transmissions (They make trannies for BMW's) in Fountain Inn walked in this morning , showed a few coworkers after waving it around for a few minutes and then walked out.

Shane Childers is the name I keep hearing. If so...monumentally dumb thing to do.

Finance buddy of mine I talked to today said if put into T-bills, earning 4-5 %, You basically could spend the interest alone and never touch the principle....to the tune of some 400K PER WEEK.... Insane

After I had everything squared away with lawyers, accounts, personal security, and had a cool 5 million buried in the ground somewhere that only I know about, I’d come out and say that I’m going to be giving away $1,000,000 to people with personal situations that I deem worthy, but they have to come and pitch to me like they’re on Shark Tank.

I thought I heard someone say 900M after taxes. That’s still a lot of tax

just so everyone understands. lump sum doesn't mean they took taxes out.

The lump sum is the lump sum. That is before taxes. he is getting 847 LUMP SUM. Then that gets taxed. He will pocket around 490 million.

Geez... frickin read.

worth about $877.8 million in a lump-sum cash payment

After taxes are considered, Akhavan – who is not an expert in South Carolina state taxation – estimates the winner would take home about $490.6 million, if he or she opted for the cash option.

I’m happy for him, but I would also bet that he’ll be in the next TV special of bankrupt lottery winners. That’s a pretty dumb move.

That must be worldwide. A shite ton of people get struck by lightning in places like India. There's no fricking way that number is for just the US.

In Bangladesh they had a lightning strike "epidemic" because of deforestation.

The government said 70 people were killed after being hit by lightning in Bangladesh in last two months, with 33 of those happening on the last two days of April.

Most lightning deaths occur in a warmer period from March to July in Bangladesh.

Up to 300 people died in lightning strikes a year in Bangladesh due to thunderstorms, Sujit Kumar Debsharma, former director of the now-defunct SAARC Meteorological Research Centre in Dhaka, told bdnews24.com.
