It's very true and we can dive even deeper into it, but that's besides the point. Responsible people see all the costs involved in kids and it discourages large families in middle class households since there is no government assistance involved. Poor, uneducated people are incentivized to have more kids through government handouts thus producing a poor, uneducated society.

This and this again. Also many folks have kids to due to social/family pressure even when they are not ready (Career, Financial, Maturity) to have them yet. Many people and their kids would be better off waiting a few years before starting families.

Last, I know several families who can't have kids for medical reasons, I've learned not to shame anyone who doesn't have kids because you don't know their story.
