I can’t even remember the last shark bite incident on the Alabama Gulf Coast.

Orange Beach Police have released the following details on the possible shark bite:
On July 31st at approximately 1:19 p.m. a call came into Orange Beach Dispatch of a possible shark bite. The victim was a 15-year-old male swimming with his father. His injuries consist of a mild abrasion and a few small puncture wounds. The father stated that he noticed that there were a large quantity of small fish swimming around them and as they went to leave his son felt pain. The father nor the son ever saw a shark or any large fish near them when this happened. The victim was taken to the hospital by his family.

That and diving birds are a pretty good indicator of a predator in the area. I avoid the water when I see those signs

I think I got bitten on the dick by a shark one night after a trip to the strip club. I blacked out and woke up with those exact injuries.

quote:
In 2000, triathlete Chuck Anderson was training 150 yards offshore in the Gulf of Mexico when an eight-foot bull shark lunged at him, attacking four times. The shark dragged Anderson toward the beach, slamming both of them onto a sandbar 20 feet from shore. Pinned by the shark and struggling to get free, Anderson ripped his right arm from its mouth, losing his forearm. Anderson, a high school principal, returned to competition less than a year later, winning the Mullet Man triathlon. He continues to compete. He never blamed the shark and regularly makes trips to the ocean, which he loves. Anderson works with the Pew Environment Group because of his strong desire to educate people and spread the message that indiscriminate slaughtering of sharks will forever change our ocean for the worse. As a teacher and coach, he tells young people not to be scared, but to be educated. He feels this work helps him make sense of the attack.

Well this is not a boat accident! It wasn't any propeller! It wasn't any coral reef! And it wasn't Jack the Ripper!

Anyone who believes this and thinks its newsworthy is an idiot. Being nipped by an extremely small shark isn’t newsworthy, and it may not be one either. This story may as well be “local teenager stung by wasp”.

Was it a Great White Supremacist shark?

Congrats on the two new Covid cases, the kid and the shark.

Yet you keep posting in the thread.
When it’s been like 20 years since there has been a shark bite on the Alabama Coast, it was bound to be newsworthy when it happened again. Also, I wouldn’t exactly put a shark bite and a wasp sting in the same category, even if it was a small shark.

I know a guy training for a triathlon was attacked by a bull shark probably 10 years ago. He survived but I don’t remember how bad...may have lost a leg.
