I saw one once that said if you get pulled over, sign jibberish to the cop and then write on a piece of paper that you're hearing impaired. Supposedly most cops will let you go with a warning rather than take the time to communicate through written word.

This is just stupid. They can just serve you with the ticket, which is written in English. The ticket itself has a lengthy description of the entire legal process printed on it. The cop doesn't have to even talk to you.

I'll allow it.

This won’t apply to all parking garages BUT I used to park at one where, right before I paid my ticket at that vending-machine-type doohickey, I would walk back to the entrance gate, press the button for another ticket and pay instead with the new one. I would be charged according to my stay of 30 seconds (when in reality I had been there for hours). ~ MrDudeAbides

This wouldn't work for most garages as they have pressure sensor that won't give you a ticket unless you are in a car. Perhaps this person was morbidly obese.

I've found that most people who pontificate about things like this do things that are 10 times worse in their own lives.

I must have had a total of 10 words spoken to me the last two to three times I got pulled over.

You can't pay student loans with a credit card.

You could get cash advances and pay the student loans.

But please for your own sake OTers, do NOT try this now. Ch7 Bankruptcy is NOT as easy as it used to be. A state and federal entity examine the shite out of you, they access every credit account, and will not touch your case without 2 years of tax returns and bank statements that SHOW payments to creditors.

tl:dr DO NOT file Ch7 these days unless you're legitimately out of options b/c they will scrutinize and make it at least 6 months of hell to get done.

Then tell them you're blind and can't read the ticket, I don't know. I'm just the messenger here bro.

I used to do this when my office was in the Chase building.

I don't think it would get that far. If you're in so deep that bankruptcy is a viable option, I don't like your chances of getting any significant loan to kick off the scam in the first place.

Just tell them you can't read or write, and that you gave their wife the dong last night and drive away. Works every time.

Aren't all impairments listed on your license?

I would think if eyeglasses show up in your license, being deaf certainly would.

They would get a picture of your face and license plate all with just one camera.

Yeah, but who is going to go back and review that when there is no blatant indication to them of fraud? Unless a lot of people start doing this so there are multiple more tickets dispensed than cashed out, or their nightly profits start to consistently drop, no one is going to bother to check.

True. But my friend pulled it off excellently circa 2003. He was gainfully employed here in BR area after college. Got in to a very good MBA program and had excellent credit. Credit was very easy back then and he hopped on it and fricked em good. Now makes a shite load of money living well in SoCal. fricker. Good on him but I couldn't have done that. And now the government makes damned sure it don't happen as easily.

What happens when you don't have a license with the deaf symbol or a vehicle with one?

I think that was the point, being def doesn't go on your license so he can't call you out on it. Supposedly it might help but can't hurt. Like I said, it's just something I read once.

The tickets have to be reconciled. Tickets issued has to equal tickets redeemed plus current occupancy.

True, and some places wouldn't get a picture of your face. The Lafayette airport is about as low-tech as it gets and actually, you can just drive over the curb of the parking lot and leave.

But if pressing the button and getting a ticket for the hourly lot makes you feel more hacker-y, go for it. Me and Boudreaux are jumping the curb.
