He has always been a big eater, he used to be overweight for his age. Now, at 14, won’t eat shite. Has lost probably 10lbs in a couple months. I have taken him to cardio dr and run CBC blood test, not showing anything. Waiting for neurologist, but is it possible it’s a social issue? He’s not the most popular kid by any means, I’ve just noticed since school started he has eaten less and less. Of course, he won’t tell me shite. Sorry for the long read, but anyone dealt with this?

He may be on a hunger strike for trans rights or some other liberal issue.

Maybe got made fun of...maybe saw something on social media. Maybe a douchebag gym coach said something or a girl he liked.

Absolutely could be social.

Kids that age are downright evil.

Sounds like anorexia. You might want to add a psychologist into the mix.

Did he start on any new meds (ADHD) that suppress appetite? Is he overweight?

Likely it’s a social thing. Gotta break down the barrier and find out.

Not eating isn’t the way, but it could be a good way to introduce quality diet and exercise habits.

Kids are shitty. If it is social pressure, turn it into motivation.

My complete guess:

Got made fun of at school and wants to lose weight but doesn’t know how to properly do it.

This maybe a good chance for you to get him in the gym and create a good outlet for him.

Yeah, sorry. He's possibly getting shite for being overweight because kids are assholes and his solution is to not eat.

Talk to him, try changing the family diet for few meals a week to something healthier, less snacks in the house, work out with him, etc., maybe try a new sport or the same sport but a league away from kids in his school

Agree, someone pissed him off or embarrassed him, girl he liked.

Be supportive and he will open up hopefully.

That’s a tough age. And it’s tough on kids anyways these days. Just spend time with him. Whatever he likes to do. Hunting, fishing, ballgame, even video games or something if he’s into that. Build him up. Let him know you’re in his corner.

Nope, we tried those for about a month when he was 7-8 on advice from our pediatrician, that shite didn’t do him any favors. Had to pull him off after about a month or two I can’t remember. Wasn’t long though.

Kids at school might be dealing their moms Ozempic to him. Counter it with weed for proper weight gain.
