Not sure what the backstory is but they look like they live in a nice little neighborhood and live in a good little house. I read in another article she takes the bus to work and works multiple jobs. Uses the leftover money for the kids stuff but has never had enough to focus on a car.
She seems to genuinely work hard to put her kids first but never put away money on a car.

Kid pay taxes on his earnings? Needs to pay sales tax too since he's providing a service. Just saying. If cops are going to break up an 8 year olds lemonade stand this kid needs to be held to the same standard.
