Been there recently. My phone completely died and i lost access to Waze and the directions to where I was going.

Of course, I was not a minor. And I was going to a business meeting. But still......

I don't know how Snapchat works

Not so sure either but I do know that my son does not respond to texts. Sometimes I have to text my daughter to get her to snap my son so he can check his texts.

FYI..theres an app that will disable their other apps until they answer your texts.

I’m impressed by his resourcefulness. My 11 year old would not know how to drive and use navigation at the same time.

I started teaching my kid how to drive at 10. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't follow all of the traffic laws but she could keep it on the road by 11

I love it! My dad started letting us practice driving as kids. It was so fun.

Our 11 y/o is...not ready She can drive golf carts at my BIL’s house, but she’s not quite responsible enough to practice with a car. Maybe I’ll let her try if I find a very wide open parking lot somewhere.

Gotta say Im mighty impressed by the kid. If I would have tried that at 11 theres a 100% chance the car wouldn't have made it out the neighnorhood without crashing multiplr times.

You don't have to go through SC to cut off a phone... just call your provider.

If they were chatting on Snapchat (which they probably were) instead of just sharing pictures, he could easily go back and see the address. But if he was smart enough to do that he'd be with the predator, so it's good that he wasn't!

Snapchat stores messages for either 28-30 days. There was some big fracas about that a couple of years ago where they were telling people their messages were gone but they were sitting on a server being kept for who knows who to peek at anytime. With the new disclosure, they are suppose to be making those messages truly go like tears in the rain after that time period.

If my kids are ignoring my text to that point, they won't have a phone.

Since we’re told now that kids can decide what gender they are, who are we to tell them who they live with?

We kind of lived in the country. My dad used to let me drive over to my grandparents and to the store at about 12. Different world I guess.

He would have made it if he had a pad of paper, a pen and knew how to write cursive. Kids today rely way too much on technology.

Yet Asian women still can't drive 3 miles without fricking up someone's day.
