106 in custody after May OPSO task force action

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 106 people during a task force action held the last two days in May.
Sheriff Jay Russell said the effort targeted areas of Monroe, West Monroe and the parish and is not as focused on the number of arrests but making arrests that target individuals with weapons and drugs.
"Those are the individuals we have the most problems with — with violent crimes within our jurisdiction — and those are the ones we targeted," Russell said.
Of the 106 arrests over the two-day period, 66 were probable cause arrests — 35 for misdemeanors and 31 for felonies. Forty arrests were made for outstanding warrants.
Drugs seized during the May 30-31 task force:
36 grams of marijuana
8 marijuana cigarettes
1 pound, 1 ounce of marijuana
1 THC cigarette
8 cocaine rocks
41 grams of cocaine
15 grams of methamphetamine
13,056.5 Ecstasy units
3 pints of Promethazine
7 Hydrocodone pills
44 bars of Xanax
60 dosage units of amphetamine
6 fluid ounces of PCP
1 PCP cigarette

When I was young I smoked a joint laced with PCP. Back then it was called KW or killer weed. It's definitely not something I ever wanted to do again. I was fricked up beyond control.
