It's more of a wattage issue than a location.
98.1 is pushing out 95,000 watts. 104.5 is doing 3,000.
Big difference

This sounds like BS to me. When the sun is down, radio signals travel further as there is little to no light wavelengths to interfere with the signal. When I was a kid, we could hear 870 AM all the way to Tallahassee after FSU football games on the drive back to NOLA.

I don't even bother with the radio. I just listen on the app.

Could the general manager petition the FCC for an upgrade on wattage ? NOAA weather radio out of Baton Rouge operates on 1000 watts and broadcasts at a radius of 40 miles.
Just have one frequency 104.9 FM.

I always found it weird that the station is based in BR but the broadcast towers are in Jackson and Donaldsonville
That's normal. Very few cities have their broadcast towers in town.

It's weird. Sometimes I can pick it up in Hammond. Other times I can't even pick it up in BR
Same here. I live in Hammond and I'm in Albany a good bit and rarely have an issue with picking up the station. It has been abysmal for about a week.

Just tune in on 98.1-2 HD Radio, all OT ballers have a new car with HD radio.
Depending on where you are in BR 104.5 (north) and 104.9 (south) is better.

and the FCC only liscense them for a certain wattage so there isn't much more they can do in make the reception better.
They need to do everything in their power to fix it. It's fricking pathetic that I can drive down Government street in front of their building and hear nothing but static on either channel. I doubt this is the case for the most listened to 100% sports talk channel in any other state. Fix it.

The towers aren't located anywhere near the office on Government.

having trouble with your reception? give my friends a call over at ACI Facility Support. they won't nickel and dime you, either. no maintenance fee or gas tax, just one flat rate, and that's it.

I just realized something.. Its only AM channels that are affected.

Do they power their antennas with hamsters and double A's?
Awful reception especially this week.
Moscana was upset that the signal was making him bald.

98.1-2 HD is ESPN (104.9)
98.1-3 HD is whatever talk station Clarence Buggs is on

It's practically unlistenable at times in my car but my GFs car which is 4 years older than mine always picks it up perfectly.
