If you are young and single you would be crazy NOT to move to California and see what you can make of it. Great place to live, potentially.

Give it a try.

Cali has a lot of desalination plans that will be coming online, it will be fine.

idk what Texas is going to do though.

Spent 27 years in San Jose. Great place. 100k won't make you a baller though. Look in willow Glen or Campbell. Don't look in Los gatos or Saratoga. You can't afford it.

Also...look into young exec membership at San jose country club. It's a deal.

I'm an Electrical. I make $68000 in the Lafayette area. So for a kid less than two years out of college you can see where the $100000 comes off as appealing. Now I have it pretty good over here. Not too much stress and the cost of living is very manageable. The offer came out of the blue and I've been contemplating.

You could be making 120K in Baton Rouge with 5-6 years experience

Unless you really want to live in Cali

The extra $32k a year is worth the move and experience. It isn't that much more expensive to live in California. You can find nice apartments that cost the same as you would here in Louisiana. It's not going to cost you $2500 more a month to live there.

Single man, hell yes you should. Even if you decide down the road that it's not for you, you didn't lose anything and at least you'll have a few interesting stories to tell. Life's too short to not do it.

You won't be a baller but you'll be more than fine.

100k as a single person. You would probably be fine almost anywhere.

Well no shite. Richmond is one of the worst places in the country, much less California.

Richmond =/= San Jose. San Jose is actually cool and worth living in.

On a $100k a year? No problem. Don't let people scare you about cost of living. If you were making 40 grand and had a family, then I'd tell you to reconsider. 100 grand and single? That's good livin right there.

As far as areas go, there are a lot of choices. San Jo and it's metro area is massive. Don't live on the East side. Great Mexican food, and a little dangerous (but not as bad as people make it out to be). Live downtown if you're a hipster like me that likes to go bars. Live in Campbell if you like downhome, slightly racist white people. Live in Los Gatos if you want to bang OT 8 MILFS and their daughters. Live in Santa Clara if you want to be bored and left alone. Live in Santa Cruz and commute if you like the beach and are a hippie. Don't live in Milpitas. It smells like arse.

I Live in Sunnyvale and all of this is fairly accurate. I make around 100k and I'm single and live comfortably.
