Ten cows died in a wreck after the trailer carrying them overturned on Interstate 20 Thursday afternoon, Richland Parish Sheriff Gary Gilley said.

Louisiana State Police Public Information Officer Michael Reichardt confirmed that only cows were being transported by the 18-wheeler, which wrecked in a hit and run accident between Start and Rayville. The driver was not injured.

Further details regarding the wreck were minimal as of 9:30 p.m.

Additional cows in the trailer survived the accident with injuries and scattered along the interstate.

Horses were brought in to help round up the animals.

This should conjure up memories of the I-10 crash in Baton Rouge at expressway park.

Lol I was going eastbound on I-20 and passed right by that. I saw cows walking on the side of the interstate and I was like what the hell is going on. Traffic going westbound looked pretty backed up. Would have hated to be on that side of the interstate

They just had to add this. Horses already act all high and mighty. Can you imagine how these already embarrassed cows must have felt?
