I would think so, but it says homicide detectives are investigating so maybe he was forced off.

Yikes.
Looks like he is between the spans. I’ve seen big rigs go over the side of I-10 at the I-110 curve when there is ice. They added the taller barrier for that about 20 years ago.
I don’t recall seeing one go off the freeway at Perkins though.
