The WRF-ARW model also brings the line close, which has been the best at mirroring the actual temps.

How is this supposed to continue until noon tomorrow? Looking at radar it will be gone by dark

Honestly very underwhelming so far compared to the doomsday hype. Not much ice at all just a thin layer but the sleet is gone it’s warmed up and just rain now, most of it doesn’t appear to be freezing on trees or power lines. Roads are wet but not icy.

Pretty bad whiff and a bust so far compared to what we were supposed to get

I grew up in a civil war era house, built on basically stacked rocks for footers. No central air, just a couple of window units, and one gas floor heater and one fireplace, both on the opposite side of the house from my room.

In the coldest of winters, I would wake up and there would be frost on my dresser mirror. We used heating blankets to stay warm .

I’m near BR so no ice, just a ton of cold rain. Gumbo is ready in 20 minutes and life is great.

Im trying to get my kids to take a nap and you'd swear I was subjecting them to some kind of medieval torture.

Kids inside all day = bad news

What we just saw/are seeing now is the leading shortwave.
Still tons of energy to the west that will pull moisture from the gulf with it.

(Also know as round 2)

western Louisiana at midday with main upper trough/low extending
from the northern Rockies to Baja California.

I’d rather a week of zero degree temps with no power than a couple days straight of multiple young kids in the house with nowhere to go. I’ve already gone to the store three times today just to get some peace

American and DFW. Is there a less iconic duo? Arrived a couple weeks ago. Jet bridge operator was MIA. Had to sit at the gate a half hour. When we went to leave on a different flight the jet bridge broke and it took them 25 minutes to fix it.
