My friend just flew from NOLA to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh back to NOLA. He doesn't have a RealID and his passport expired.
Apparently you can arrive early and TSA does a background check on you. He arrived hours before his flight with his DL, expired passport, birth certificate, social security card, and two pieces of mail showing his address. TSA in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh waved him through with no issues.

Go to one of those private places. Look on website first required documents. Take those documents to the place. Get a realID

I think New Orleans is the only airport in Louisiana with a security checkpoint so you should be fine everywhere else.
