what are you rambling about?

if people are taking the positive step of crying about their perceived offense, they are the ones initiating action. this is a reaction to their choice

that's why your "mirror" posts on the previous page aren't really applicable or necessary. if people didn't invent their offense and succuomb to sheep-level emotional-irrational thinking, there would be no response, ergo, the mirror can't exist (it's not a 2-way street if one side can shut down the entire discussion)

i'm...not offended

expecting intellectual consistency and rational-logical thinking has, literally, nothing to do with offense. it's the opposite

taking offense is an emotional-irrational reaction, which is the opposite of rational-logical thinking

They have been doing that all over the city. In fact, they all but booted the regular homeless people from Elysian Fields because they sit in their cars while the kids walk in traffic and ask for money

Outrage culture works the same way on both left and right. It's a product of new media.

The confederate battle flag should've been taken down long before outrage culture existed.

The statue controversy is a ludicrous piece of would-be vandalism. Though if you watch the city council people, it's clear that people on both sides of the issue don't know what they're talking about.

my comments had nothing to do with left/right, no matter how hard ballcaster tried to make them binary

it is a meaningless symbol and irrelevant to modern culture. both sides are wrong, but only one created a national movement out of thin air

most people on both sides of these issues have no idea what they're talking about, because they're recently-invented fake crises

emotional thinking is bad

taking offense is emotional thinking

if things offend you, then you're just showing weakness as far as i'm concerned. it's a completely useless emotion

It is pretty much a huge middle finger to black people. Definitely makes sense not to fly it at a state capitol building.

If you want to fly it in your front yard, more power to you... just understand that many people will think you are a collosal a-hole. If you are okay with that, more power to you.

Talk about a bunch of perpetually offended whiny asses. Whitey was so offended at the idea of equal treatment of blacks that they hoisted the flag of slavery in the name of segregation for 54 years, and you people actually have the gall to appoint yourselves the being offended police when your boyfriend of a flag got taken down after a little benchwhite mowed down 9 blacks.

Get the frick over it.

I think it's ridiculous how so many right wingers act as though they aren't a part of the "easily offended" culture we live in. They aren't much better than progressives, they just get upset about different topics.

They're not offended. They're just using logic.

I have long thought that those flying confederate flags were trash, so this story didn't do much for me.

I don't care about Robert E Lee statues and the like.

Such a crock of shite, but somehow, I could see some Americans actually getting on board with that.

Houndstooth hats

That would be interesting.

You're fooling yourself if you think the movement against the Battle flag is only a month or two old.

Agree, very small percentage, like with most incidents.
