The confederate battle flag should've been taken down long before outrage culture existed.

If it had been dealt with effectively we would not be having this conversation. America runs and hides from difficult decisions especially those that may be a tough pill for white folks.

To those here that think this issue was just manufactured you are wrong...again.

It is pretty much a huge middle finger to black people. Definitely makes sense not to fly it at a state capitol building.

I actually agree with not being at state and federal buildings. The main reason for my OP was not necessarily the flag or any other confederate symbols but to point out the FACT that the SJWs and progs only glom onto issues that can be politicized to their narrative. Things they never discussed before a tragedy happened that had nothing to do with what they are now raging against. Never let a tragedy go to waste. They never attack real problems, they attack symbols that illicit emotional responses and ignore real problems like inner city black on black genocide because it might put their "teams" policies in a bad light. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Talk about a bunch of perpetually offended whiny asses. Whitey was so offended at the idea of equal treatment of blacks that they hoisted the flag of slavery in the name of segregation for 54 years, and you people actually have the gall to appoint yourselves the being offended police when your boyfriend of a flag got taken down after a little benchwhite mowed down 9 blacks.

You need help with that strawman? It's getting really big.

by GreatLakesTiger24 I think it's ridiculous how so many right wingers act as though they aren't a part of the "easily offended" culture we live in. They aren't much better than progressives, they just get upset about different topics.

Pointing out the ridiculousness of the SJWs being offended over things they didn't pay attention too before does not equal me being offended.

Ignoring the question and answering with strawmen is a sign of an unsteady stance.

I should be offended by the flour de lis too? why am I offended by it? I thought it was a french thing?

In general, people are sheep waiting to be herded by an alpha. I do a lot of work around roads and nothing will show you this more than being around people driving. If one car fricks up in front and goes the wrong direction, you will have ten frick up before you can correct it.

What cultural symbol (or person) did SFP or "right-wingers" have removed (or censured) because of offense? Name some examples

I'll hang up and listen

It was a state and local issue until the left saw an opportunity to politicize it. If states vote to remove anything I'm good with it, that's how things should work.

How people can make something like this a cure all to everybody's ills while ignoring real issues is baffling to me.

None, not a one (hint: that could be part of the current problem)

My ancestors fought for the Union. I have lived in Northern Virginia since 1973. My son was born in Arlington and, while proud to be a native New Yorker, I am a Virginian by choice.

I was never offended by the Battle Flag. I see it as a part of our history.

In the middle of Olde Town Alexandria (where R.E. Lee's boyhood home still stands) is a statue dedicated to the soldiers of Virginia who fought for the Confederacy. People have tried to have it removed only because it has been hit a number of times when we have had snow storms. It would take an act of the legislature to have it removed. I think it will be a sad day, indeed, if it is ever removed from Alexandria.

They won't be able to come up with anything in the last 30 years. It was probably some book a group of loony evangelicals went after.

And to think the Dems used to be the party that fought for free speech and against censorship. They are now the jack booted thought police groups like the Taliban would be proud of. Sad really.

We should start a coalition to ban coalitions. Seriously though who is standing up to this nonsense and is anyone really taking it serious.

It's all just faux outrage and it's sickening. The little neck beard cuckold SJWs couldn't give less of a shite about any of this even those poor people that were murdered.
I think they're actually delighted that a white guy finally killed some black people. It was like the birth of the white buffalo.

bigger fricking coverage of a flag lowering than the burial of 9 people

Well, there was significant coverage of Pinckney's funeral. Plus, do you really think people want to see the funeral of eight random people. What about the families? Do they want the press coverage? Which has more long-term historical implications? A Funeral or a symbolic flag removal?

Nah, Fox News doesn't manufacture outrage for their lowest common denominator viewership. Strictly the liberal MSM.
