It's like extreme aquatic pole vaulting... plus they get to kill something.

Take the side of the whales or the brown people

They usually take the side of the whale. They are allowed to continue hunting because they are not threatening the global population. They do not sell any of the whales.

Damn, no homo, but those guys appear to be in tip-top shape. Living with them for 3 years must have been tough/good for that guy.

Sustainable harvest of all wildlife is a good thing as long as it is kept in check.

See wildlife in America vs Africa for the perfect example of why regulated hunting actually helps wildlife populations

This seems like a more physically exhausting version of killing an elephant.

It definitely looks awesome. And I’m sure it’s tiring. But I’m not sure how intense or impressive it is.

Maybe I should go watch a video.

I got to eat whale while I was visiting Iceland. It was actually pretty good. It’s weird, however, because it tastes and looks like red meat, with a fishy aftertaste. You eat it with soy sauce and wasabi.

aw hell no, not a hard decision at all because they believe its animals over humans always, even if humans have to die as a result.

That looks like one swipe of a tail would ruin about 40 people's day.

A few of the bigger guys on this forum need to go on an all whale diet.

No thanks. The average height is less than 5.5 ft.

I was there when they had a body building/strongman comp in 2011. Winner took pictures with me holding him up with one arm.

Those guys are starving.

That’s badass. If I were to kill a whale this is how I’d want to do it. Like I also want to kill an endangered tiger in the jungle. But I want to go into the jungle myself with a pocket bluff and some string. Man versus beast

There was an episode of a documentary series about them. Hunters of the South Seas. Interesting stuff but the host who goes and lives with them is really annoying. On Netflix.
