Cam hardly played on 3rd down (mostly due to being injured, but he’s also slowed down this year). The coaching staff FINALLY let Baun rush the passer and now we’re seeing the results.

The coaching staff’s unwillingness to play Graham in the red area and let Baun rush the passer earlier this season should tell you all you need to know

That they make good decisions as the season goes along?

Or they aren’t paying attention in practice.

The problem is Baun was a pass rush specialist in college( at least in 2019) and the Saints drafted him and tried to turn him into a box lbr. Like maybe a Scott Shanle.

Kaden Elliss was another LBr that I thought they misused.

At least that's the way I understand what I see.

What perplexes me about Baun is that he immediately gets to the QB. He may be undersized, but if you know they are passing, you can't teach his burst and bend.

i think the big knock on him is his fundamentals and technique are bad, often causing him to run himself passed the QB and being unable to effect the play.

if we had decent coaching, i think he could turn into a franchise level player like cam was years ago

I remember seeing that in the 2nd half. Did they do that much in the 1st half ?

Even though Baun blew by the QB a few times, he forced him to step up into the DT's. Better than Cam playing patty cake with the OT while the QB holds the ball for 5 seconds.

Who woulda known that what the guy was good at in college, would be what he should be doing in the pros.
